In today's architectural practice, we strive to create homes not just as structures, but as complete, harmonious systems. Our new project — a single-story house in the Leningrad region — exemplifies this approach. Designed with both functionality and aesthetics in mind, it represents a seamless integration of layout planning, interior design, and facade architecture.
Designing a Unified Living System
The house spans 174 square meters and features three bedrooms, a study, three bathrooms, and a spacious open-plan kitchen-dining-living area. What makes this project special is that we were involved from the very beginning — designing not only the architecture but also the interior spaces. Only this comprehensive approach allows us to fully realize our vision and meet all client expectations.
Layout Planning with Purpose

The layout was developed using our proprietary methodology, which helped the client approve the plan on the first try. We carefully considered the cardinal directions: the entrance faces east, defining the placement of all other rooms. Children’s rooms face south for natural light; the master bedroom has a panoramic window and its own terrace (a specific request due to the cool climate of northwestern Russia). The living room opens to three sides of the compass for full visibility of the property, while the owner’s office faces east — ensuring no overheating and clear sightlines of the front yard.
Functional Spaces Beyond the Essentials
Additional practical features include a large pantry off the kitchen, an entryway with a walk-in closet, a utility room, and a guest bathroom. A separate guesthouse is also planned on the site (layout available on the final slide).
Minimalist Facade Design with Character
The exterior design reflects a northern minimalism — simple yet engaging. Three reinforced concrete roof slabs at different levels give the form a sense of movement and rhythm. Black window frames stand out against the white facades, accented by angled vertical wooden plank elements. This subtle angular motif continues into the sloped columns and pylons, creating a visual theme that ties the whole structure together.
Current Project Status
Currently, the house shell is complete. This season, we’ll finish the facades and begin interior work based on our design concept.
