Designing a 60 m² open-plan living space for family and friends
In this interior design project, we've transformed a 60 m² space into a multifunctional area that includes a kitchen with a large marble island and bar counter, a dining zone featuring a spacious wooden table, a fireplace corner with a decorative hearth, and a cozy living room enhanced by a large sofa and a home cinema projector. This layout makes the space ideal for spending quality time with family and close friends.
The open-plan kitchen-living area benefits from numerous windows and panoramic glazing, which were elegantly dressed with classic white wooden shutters. These provide soft, diffused lighting and evoke a seaside atmosphere, making the room feel light and inviting.
To create a warm and sunny ambiance — especially appreciated in Russia’s cooler climate — we incorporated a lot of honey-toned wood finishes throughout the space.
The kitchen cabinetry omits upper storage units to visually lighten the area and enhance its sense of openness. Instead, all storage is located below the countertop, offering ample compartments and maintaining a clean look.
The central island serves multiple purposes: it acts as an additional work surface or a casual spot for breakfast and conversation.
The sink was strategically placed opposite the window, allowing one to enjoy the outdoor view while doing dishes.
This interior design project was created for a private country house. At HOMESPRO, we develop interior design concepts based on either our ready-made or custom architectural projects. When you purchase or order a project from us, you can also commission an interior design package developed together with the architect behind the project.
Interior design for a country house differs significantly from apartment design in many aspects — including layout planning, overall square footage, and engineering systems. Additionally, internal design choices often depend on the surrounding environment and landscape.
Zoning strategies also vary between houses and apartments. The lifestyle outside the city influences the final look of your interior, the types of rooms needed, and the materials used in different living scenarios.
Staircases, terraces, fireplaces, lighting design, and double-height spaces — their safety and aesthetics are all addressed in the interior design project for a private residence.
